Since I am a teacher, I have the summers off and that is when I get a boatload of reading done! So, when my Aunt Cindy sent me totes of suspense books I was TOTES excited. Get it? I don’t recall previously reading any Mary Higgins Clark novels so, I grabbed this one when I liked its cover. Don’t judge.
Book of the Month – Daddy’s Gone A Hunting
Two sisters (who are best friends but different personalities (ring a bell Whitney?!) are part of a wealthy New York family who owns an antique furniture store worth millions. Their widowed father has run the well dry and needs to make some money. In addition, his past demons haunt him and soon begin to haunt his daughters.
One of the sisters is critically injured when a fire breaks out at the family business. As the construction crews clear the rubble they uncover more crimes and more family secrets. Do the girls know what remained buried for decades? Were they involved? Kate, who is in a coma, will be the key to helping solve the mystery- and the crime.
