I know it is old, and I know it is a movie. But, I also know the character was played by Matthew McConaughey. Alright alright alright.
Book of the Month – The Lincoln Lawyer
Dad suggested this book to me and when I accepted I thought it was written by John Grisham. Turns out it is actually by Michael Connelly and I believe this is the first book I have read by him. I am certainly glad I did! I do not like to watch a movie until after I finish the book, so this one was completed in just a couple of days. No such motivation like Matthew McConaughey in a suit. I also love all things law and justice so think was a natural fit for the April book of the month.
Mick Haller is a second generation attorney who is always hustling. He is a defense attorney and has been warned that at some point in his career he will have an “innocent man”; a client who is truly innocent. When Mick accepts a case tied to a hefty payday, he believes he might have finally met the one. However, things are not as always as they appear. Mick starts to question his decision and things turn dangerous.
Should he trust his gut instinct? With his friends and family’s lives in danger, Mick has to choose innocent until proven guilty?
